And by the name I can understand that book is about Arabic women and how they live in Riyadh. I will judge the book by its cover I think the book is very girly, it have sequins on it. Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea My rating: 3 of 5 stars. The table looks a little rusty but it looks like it will start turning soon. Freedom of all sorts will ring true in the heads of many cultures on this dirtball we fondly call Earth. This week finally I finished the book. Hi everybody, I am almost 1 month in riyadh and it feels like prison. Managed to read it in between work (thank god didn't get caught by boss). Every step carrying her farther away from the happy ending to a story that had not even had a chance to begin. Girls of Riyadh tells the story of four college-age high class friends in Saudi Arabia, girls looking for love but stymied by a system that allows them only limited freedoms and has very specific expectations and demands. I just finished reading this book, which was written by a Saudi woman, based on stories of her girl friends in Saudi Arabia. This book was definitely fun reading and maybe even truthful to some extent, but definitely sensationalistic. Rajaa Al Sanea's Girls of Riyadh follows four 'velvet class' (super rich) Saudi women in the post-secondary education phase of their lives.
